[edit] Story
Technically it is the same as the other stories, due to that the author wanted to make this as much as a real "new version" hack as possible.
[edit] History
This hack begin production in mid 2002, as a sequel to Koolboyman's "Rated M" ROM hack "Fukemon", titled "Fukemon 2". Shortly afterwards, Koolboyman decided to drop the "Mature" label, and the game was given the prototype name "Pokemon: New World". The author's goal was to make a brand new region, and link it up to the other "official" regions, and to make it seem like a brand new version of Pokemon, and changing as many things as possible from the original Red Version. This hack was put on hiatus several times due to the author's lack of inspiration at times, but it kept going. Finally, on January 16th, 2004, the hack was released to the public.
This hack sparked inspirations for people everywhere to make their own Pokemon Hacks. This hack was downloaded over 50,000 times on Koolboyman's website before the website was taken down in early 2005.
To this day, this hack still stands as the most popular Pokemon Red hack of all time. The author is also working on a sequel called Pokemon Prism, which was originally titled "Pokemon Bronze", and is supervising a remake of Brown called Pokemon: Rijon Adventures.
[edit] To Come
Coolboyman/Koolboyman is apparently adding new stuff and cleaning a few errors:
"This update will bring several new things. First and most importantly, cleaning up all the map and text errors. I realized theres a ton, but they'll all be gone in the new version. Also, getting rid of some of those glitches. Next, some Prism elements, such as adding the new types. I won't be changing it drastically, I want Pokemon Brown to have the same unique feel it's always had these years, and the new areas will also hold Brown's style, but some have some twists to them. Besides, that's for Rijon Adventures to deal with." Coolboyman also recently announced the V2.0 release for December. Though the release date has been pushed further due to the return of MeanMrMustard who changed the image Compression/decompression routine so the planned new-Sinnoh/Johto Pokemon can have pictures. Recent screenshots also show GBC style Graphics.
