The game has many new features that are not available in Pokemon

A brand new world called Hautson, a land full of myths and legends.
100 brand new pokemon.
More two on two battles.
3 Brand new starters with new evolutions.
Special cameo appearance by ???
Over 30 new attacks.
New characters, such as Professor Kaity and Annabel.

Some thing have not changed since Pokemon Ruby:

Same tilesets (style of trees, grass, ect).
Some later routes remained unchanged. Probably due to their high complexity.
The gym enviroments are exactly as they are in Pokemon Ruby.

[edit] Story

You begin your story the moment you wake up from a dream. The day has finally come, you have recently found that your big brother left town in search for answers regarding recent rumors about a disorder in the balance of the land. It's been said that every one thousand years, the spirits of the land of Hautson awaken to renew life. These are only myths, no one really takes them seriously, well no one except for you and your best friend; two teenagers who are always getting into trouble. You sense something is wrong and that is the reason why your oldest brother departed from Zubolo Town. Your first task is to investigate around town for any clues leading to where your older brother left. Since no one in town will give you any information, the only method you have to rely on is between your best friend and the town's professor. You will need to find Prof. Kaity and ask her to lend you a hand. She will give you a Pokemon to help you along the way and tell you that from that point on she can't do much so you and your best friend are on your own. Your main goal, to find what is disturbing the balance in Hautson and find a solution for it. Are you up for the task?

Work on the game began in August 2006 when a team of members at Pokemon Community decided to create another ROM Hack. KoBRe LaiR, and experienced ROM Hacker became the cheif hacker for the project, and several of his friends assisted. The sketch artist was selected as Kukuru01 to create the outline for the entire ROM hack. Barry helped recreated the maps and decided that changing the inner of the gyms was not something he was interested in. A rather large team consisting of Cowrie, Brushfire0605, pikafirefight, and Scyther created the sprites for the ROM hack. Currently the entire team is 7, and they're still working on the game. Within just two months the ROM hack has gotten further than planned.

Some of the feedback on the ROM hack has been positive, and most negative. Some have commented on how the fire starter looks exactly like Torchic.[1]But this was responded to with that the new starter pokemon is based on the design of Torchic.[2] And many have commented that when pokemon evolved or are used in battle they are replaced with the original starter sprites.[3][4] Though the majority of the negative feedback was towards the rather unattractive fake pokemon.[5][6] The response to all feedback has been positive, as the team understands the game is far from perfect.[7]
